Native American Birth to Three Program
BIRTH TO 3 PROGRAM
The primary goal of the Native American Birth to Three program is to assure Native American children and their families, who might be eligible for early intervention services are connected with a county Birth to Three program in their area.
In accomplishing this the staff will focus on:
Strengthening collaboration among tribal service delivery agencies and county Birth to Three Programs and other tribal agencies to assure access to necessary services delivered in a culturally appropriate manner.
Promoting education and awareness regarding both the Birth to Three project and the magnitude of this issue within tribal communities. Education and awareness activities will target both Native and non-Native staff and decision makers in tribal and non-tribal agencies.
Identifying problems and focus on implementing proposed solutions from the tribal and non-tribal prospective.
Assuring the highest quality of family-centered care for each family who participates in the program. Participant involvement, tribal site visits, and home visits to clients remain important strategies for continual quality improvement.
