Our Goal is to assist in the generation of economic independence, and to create, save and retain jobs in Native American communities in Wisconsin.

Financial and Business Skills Training
New business and financial literacy workshops featuring topics essential to entrepreneurship readiness such as budgeting, savings and wealth building, using financial institutions, and building and rebuilding credit.

Resource and Referral
Provide information about local community education opportunities and other local, state or federal programs that
can be of assistance to Native American entrepreneurs.

Business Readiness and Planning
Gauging viability of a business concept, assessing entrepreneurship readiness, projecting sales, costs and profitability, setting benchmarks for measuring success.

Marketing/Selling Strategies
Guiding industry research, identifying and targeting markets, selecting promotional methods and refining sales techniques.

Borrower Preparation
Quantifying start-up requirements, identifying owner equity and potential lending sources, business plan compilation and completion of loan applications,

Post Start-up Entrepreneur Support
Assist owners select and utilize methods to track operations and cash flow. Assist owners identify and correct operating problems.

The Small Business Technical Assistance Program has been operated by GLITC since 1992 and has been funded at various levels by Wisconsin State budget appropriations, U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Business Enterprise and Rural Business Opportunity Grants, and the Wisconsin Community Action Program.
