The Lactation Education Assistance Program promotes breastfeeding. Information regarding differences in breast milk and formula are given to Native Americans to assist in making informed choices for infant feeding. Follow up care includes qualified teaching of the simple techniques of breastfeeding. Education components are offered to professional health care workers at clinics, hospitals, and various health facilities to update breastfeeding management.
