Family Support Specialist

The Family Support Specialist (FSS) is responsible for initiating and maintaining regular and long-term (up to five years) contact/support with families. This activity will occur primarily within the family’s home; each visit should last for at least one hour. The interventions should be family-centered and strength-based. Attendance as scheduled is an essential function for this position.  This position is physically located in Odanah, Wisconsin with a reporting relationship to the Great Lakes Inter Tribal Council office in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin.

This is a non-exempt full-time position working at the main site in Lac Du Flambeau, WI. The starting wage for this position is $19 per hour with benefits including: Annual/Personal Leave and Holiday Pay, Health, Dental, Life & AD&D, STD and LTD Insurance, FSA and 403(b) Retirement Plan. Regular work hours are normally Monday through Friday 40 hours a week. There will be variation in work hours due to special projects, deadlines, and to meet the needs of the families served. Background check and drug screen are required before employment.  Due to COVID-19, if coming from out the area, there may be a 14 day self-isolation period before starting in the office.
