Foster Grandparent Program (FGP)
Events
An annual volunteer recognition event is held each year with music, food, speakers and local, state and federal dignitaries recognizing volunteers for their achievements in their tribal communities. The event site is rotated each year to different tribal locations to support and recognize WI tribal communities and economies.

Meetings and Conferences
Senior Companion Advisory Committee: meetings are quarterly
Great Lake Native American Elder Association (GLNAEA): meetings are quarterly
Volunteer In-Service meetings held at tribal aging sites on a monthly basis.
Trainings
Elder volunteers are required to attend an orientation session to learn about program rules, policies and volunteer assignment. Once on-board volunteers are also required to attend an in-service session for 2 hours every month. In-service activities are focused on evidenced based aging programs to support and promote a healthy lifestyle for elders.
