Epidemiologist I or II

The Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Epidemiology Center is seeking an Epidemiologist I or II, dependent upon experience and qualifications.  The Epidemiologist I will serve as an entry-level epidemiologist responsible for carrying out a range of investigative and analytical epidemiologic activities related to the surveillance, detection and prevention of diseases and injuries. Working as a team member, under the direction of the Senior Epidemiologist, conduct routine epidemiologic functions, technical assistance to Tribal Nations, and provide training on the basic principles of epidemiology as well as other important public health matters. Attendance as scheduled is an essential function of this position. Frequent travel is required to meet the needs of the position.

The Epidemiologist II will serve as an intermediate level epidemiologist responsible for carrying out a broad and complex range of investigative and analytical epidemiologic activities related to the surveillance, detection and prevention of diseases and injuries. Working independently or as an experienced team member, under the direction of the Senior Epidemiologist, provide expertise for specific programs or complex analysis and technical assistance to Tribal Nations. May provide technical leadership, guidance, and coordination of work for Epidemiologist I or other program specific staff. Attendance as scheduled is an essential function of this position. Frequent travel is required to meet the needs of the position.

This is a fulltime exempt position working Monday through Friday, 8am-4:30pm. The worksite is located at the Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Council Main Office, Lac Du Flambeau Wisconsin. This position, based on skills and experience, has a salary range of $50,000-60,000 annually with benefits including Annual Leave, Personal Leave and Holiday Pay; Health, Dental, Life & AD&D, STD and LTD Insurance, FSA and 401(k) Retirement Plan. This position requires frequent travel for the purposes of attending community and program related activities. Public Health Specialist

The Public Health Specialist provides technical assistance, expertise, and consultation on issues of public health, health intervention strategies, and carrying out research and other projects to identify, define, and prevent disability, morbidity, and mortality associated with disease, injury, and related health issues. Working as a team member, under the direction of the Senior Epidemiologist/Program Manager, the Public Health Specialist provides assistance and support to Tribal Nations on important public health matters. Attendance as scheduled is an essential function of this position. Frequent travel is required to meet the needs of the position.

This is a full-time opportunity working Mon-Fri 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM 40 hours per week with a work location in Lac Du Flambeau, WI office. Limited travel may be required. This position has a starting rate of $40,000 – $45,000 with benefits including Annual/Personal Leave, Holiday Pay, Health, Dental, Life & AD&D, STD and LTD Insurance, FSA and 401(k) Retirement Plan. Background check and drug screen are required before employment.  Due to COVID-19, a period of self-isolation may be required if relocating to the area.
