Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Epidemiology Center (GLITEC)
The Fiscal Assistant will provide administrative and fiscal assistance to the Director. Assist the Director and staff by managing and supporting program budgetary and administrative activities. Develop, implement, and maintain budget, financial procedures, and financial files. This individual is expected to be the coordinator of all clerical/administrative/fiscal duties for the department. Daily attendance is an essential function of this position.
Primary responsibilities are to manage communications for the Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Epidemiology Center (GLITEC) as directed. This position will create and deliver communications to support American Indian/Alaska Native communities throughout the Great Lakes (Bemidji) Area (Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Chicago). Responsibilities include carrying out a broad range of health communication activities such as: creating and disseminating health messaging; working with vendors to design health-related communication platforms; writing press releases; content development and management; writing, editing, and formatting documents; graphic design; and delivering training in relation to designing health communications. Daily attendance is an essential function of this position. Occasional travel is a required to meet the requirements of the job.
Serve as an entry-level epidemiologist responsible for carrying out a range of investigative and analytical epidemiologic activities related to the surveillance, detection and prevention of diseases and injuries. Working as a team member, under the direction of the Senior Epidemiologist, conduct routine epidemiologic functions, technical assistance to Tribal Nations, and provide training on the basic principles of epidemiology as well as other important public health matters. Attendance as scheduled is an essential function of this position. Frequent travel is required to meet the needs of the position.
Responsibilities include managing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of assigned Program workplan and project activities. The Program Director will coordinate leadership activities with the Director of the Great Lakes Tribal Epidemiology Center (GLITEC). Working as a member of the program administrative team, this role will use advanced analytical, research, project management and relationship management skills to deliver on priority work plan activities including program assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Daily attendance is an essential function of this position. Frequent travel is required to meet the needs of the position.
