Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians
Red Cliff hugs the northern shoreline of the Bayfield Peninsula. At one end is Bayfield, on the other is Cornucopia, and between them is the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. Visit exotic ice caves in winter or sand beaches in summer.

One of Red Cliff’s main attractions is the “Frog Bay Tribal National Park” owned by the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians. Stretching over ¼ mile along Lake Superior'sshoreline on the Red Cliff Reservation, this incredible property includes pristine sandy beaches bordered by primordial boreal forest and provides views of the Apostle Islands including Oak, Basswood, Hermit, Raspberry and Stockton Islands. Because this area has been historically important for the Red Cliff Tribe, but was inaccessible in recent history due to its private ownership, the Bayfield Regional Conservancy and the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa joined forces to acquire and permanently protect the property for nature based recreation, for traditional/spiritual ceremony and to further advocacy efforts and understanding that all land is sacred.

On August 11, 2011, Legendary Waters Resort & Casino opened its doors with lodging, gaming, dining, a marina, boat launch, swimming  beach, and two campgrounds. Legendary Waters Resort & Casino is located on the pristine shores of Lake Superior. The resort and casino overlooks the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore and offers superior views from each of the 47 luxurious hotel rooms. The hotel offers an indoor pool, indoor/outdoor whirlpool, and spacious rooms overlooking Lake Superior and the Apostle Islands.

Legendary Waters Resort & Casino is a very unique casino on Lake Superior—A casino with windows! The gaming offerings consist of 250+ slots ranging from 1¢ to $5 in denomination, live blackjack, promotions, a player’s club, rewards program and a convention center that will accommodate meetings, weddings, reunions or other type of gatherings. Our Event Center breaks down into 3 smaller rooms for your convenience. With Legendary Waters, located on the pristine shores of Lake Superior, your guests will enjoy an experience that no hotel banquet room or downtown convention center can muster: the chance to renew, refresh and recharge. The lounge is just off the gaming floor and overlooks the beautiful adjacent marina. Rather than just experiencing the ordinary, EXPERIENCE LEGENDARY!

The Marina at Legendary Waters Resort & Casino has slips for both transient and seasonal docking. The boat launch is accessible for smaller crafts, and the swimming beach is open to the public. Most slips have electric and water hook-ups. One of Legendary Waters’ two campgrounds is also adjacent to the resort and casino. Formerly known as “Buffalo Bay Campground”, there are sites for tents, trailers, and RVs. The Point Detour campground is just a few minutes away, but seems a world apart with the wooded rustic camping sites also on the shores of Lake Superior.
