Vaccinations in Pregnancy, Childhood, and Native Communities
This session will focus on the critical role vaccines have during pregnancy and early childhood in preventing serious illness and protecting long-term health. Participants will review key vaccine recommendations, learn how maternal immunization protects both parent and infant, and explore the impact of routine childhood vaccines on preventing severe disease. Special attention will be given to vaccine-preventable diseases in Native American populations. This includes discussing disparities in outcomes and opportunities to improve protection through timely vaccination. The session will emphasize practical, culturally responsive approaches to supporting vaccine confidence in Tribal communities.
