Injectable PrEP & the Biomedical HIV Prevention Pipeline

This training will include current HIV epi data, late-breaking information on oral PrEP, the first injectable version of PrEP, and other modalities in the research and development pipeline. This webinar will also cover health equity and the need to address systemic and structural factors that inhibit the delivery of healthcare.

Jim Pickett is a consultant working on domestic and global advocacy in support of HIV prevention research and implementation of new modalities. His work in this space has been ongoing for more than two decades, including working at AIDS Foundation Chicago for 17 years and a 6-year consultancy with the Chicago Department of Public Health. He led the development and implementation of Chicago’s renown PrEP4Love social marketing and community mobilization campaign and regularly conducts trainings and workshops related to PrEP for a wide array of audiences. POZ magazine refers to him as “a soldier, instrumental in fighting for much-needed new prevention methods, undeterred by subjects many would prefer to ignore.” He was inducted into Chicago’s Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame in 2005, and has been living with HIV since 1995.
