GLITEC is excited to hold its third annual Great Lakes Area Opioid Conference: Journeying Toward Wellness. This conference will be held June 26 to 27, 2024, at the Kewadin Hotel and Conference Center in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.

The Opioid Conference is focused on:

• • • increasing knowledge around opioids, other substances, and other intersected areas such as mental and physical health
    • supporting collaborative response efforts promoting regional health and wellness.

In conjunction with the conference, GLITEC will be hosting pre-conference trainings. These trainings will take place on Tuesday, June 25. Trainings will include SafeTALK and trauma-informed care. Space may be limited for some trainings, so please register as soon as possible.

In collaboration with the Sault Ste. Marie Band of Chippewa Indians, GLITEC is inviting Tribal public health professionals, prevention professionals, social workers, community health workers, and others working within Indian Country to support health and wellness. Through this gathering, we hope to work together to address systemic gaps in substance use responses for American Indian/Alaska Native communities in the Bemidji Area.
