What to Expect:
- Intended Audience: This event is intended for community members, health care professionals, environmentalists, policymakers, and anyone interested in learning more about PFAS and its impact on Tribal communities.
- Guest Speakers: Gavin Dehnert, Emerging Contaminant Scientist with Wisconsin Sea Grant and University of Wisconsin-Madison
- Role in PFAS: Gavin explores the impacts of PFAS in aquatic ecosystems with an emphasis on bioaccumulation into harvestable goods and health and immune function.
- Bio: Gavin went to undergraduate school at the University of Miami (Florida) where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in marine science and biology. Following his undergraduate degree, he went to the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he received his doctorate degree in integrative biology with a focus on aquatic toxicology. Outside of work, he enjoys pretty much anything outdoors, from hiking to triathlons.
