Elder Programs

Our Focus

Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Council Inc (GLITC) Elder Programs administer grant funding focused on Tribal Elders and Youth. One of the primary grants is the Margaret A Cargill Philanthropies (MACP) grant which supports our proposal to develop an Indigenous Care Management Model (ICMM) for tribal Elders.  We also administer an AmeriCorps Seniors Tribal Demonstration Grant in partnership with Oneida Nation of Wisconsin which will reintroduce Oneida culture through Oneida culture camps. Finally since 2022, we have held over seven Elder and Youth engagement events through funding from the Notah Begay III Foundation where we engaged Elders and Youth in a two-day cultural mentoring program to strengthen youth tribal identity.
